Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Do canal-front lots have different problems than the ocean block?

The difference is mostly under the house. Canal lots sit lower, so a high tide combined with a northeast wind lifts groundwater into the crawlspace and keeps a pump cycling. Ocean-block houses take more direct salt spray on exposed fittings instead.

Why does a sump pump matter in a town with no basements?

Because the crawlspace is the low point. With sea level where it is, water that would collect in a basement elsewhere collects under the floor here, and a pit with a pump is the usual arrangement. When one quits, the first sign is often a musty smell rather than visible water.

Is the water supply municipal?

Inside the town, yes. Wells become the norm once you move inland past Frankford, and near-shore wells this close to the ocean can pick up salt, which is one reason the incorporated beach towns went to a public supply.

What happens to a house that was never properly drained before winter?

The failure waits for the reopening. Water sitting in a hose bib, an outdoor shower riser or an unheated laundry line freezes and splits the metal, then does nothing at all until pressure returns in spring. A 520-person town has a lot of houses reaching that moment in the same short stretch.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.
